Using the PicoSure® Pro to deliver energy to the targeted area which breaks up tattoo ink into tiny particles – these particles are absorbed and then removed by your body. Unlike other lasers, PicoSure® Pro uses pressure instead of heat to provide tattoo removals on black, blue, and green ink safely and effectively. As a result of its high intensity energy, PicoSure® Pro is effective in treating stubborn tattoos.
The medical aesthetician or nurse will first cleanse and numb the treatment site with topical lidocaine for 15 minutes to help minimize discomfort. During treatment, a slight snapping sound will be heard as the laser passes over the treatment area. Patients may feel some mild discomfort. Slight whitening/frosting of the tattoo will appear. A layer of ointment and a bandage will be applied after the treatment.

After completing a PicoSure® Pro treatment for skin rejuvenation, you may experience slight redness and minor swelling for a few hours. Recovery tends to be quick, and downtime is minimal.
Throughout a treatment laser energy is delivered to the unwanted tattoo, targeting the ink and breaking it down into smaller particles. The tiny particles are then eliminated through the body’s natural processes, resulting in faster clearance with fewer treatments than traditional lasers.
Treating an average sized tattoo typically takes around 10 minutes. Treatments can be longer depending on the size of the tattoo being treated.
There can be discomfort during treatment. However, we take care to apply numbing creams to your skin to ensure that you are comfortable during your treatment sessions.
A series of treatments are typically recommended 6-8 weeks apart. The number of treatments needed is dependent on variables such as ink type, size of the tattoo, location on the body, lifestyle habits, etc. Work with your provider to come up with a plan that’s right for you!
