It’s suitable for most skin types and is a popular choice for anyone seeking noticeable results with little to no downtime.
PicoSure Pro is a true picosecond laser that uses ultra-short pulses to shatter pigment without creating heat damage, making it safer for all skin types and ideal for stubborn pigmentation. Other pigment lasers (like traditional nanosecond Q-switch or fractional lasers) rely more on heat, which can cause irritation, longer downtime, and a higher risk of pigment rebound—especially in medium to deeper skin tones.
Most clients tolerate PicoSure Pro very well — it feels like a light snapping or pinching sensation on the skin. We also use a Zimmer cooling device throughout the entire treatment to keep you comfortable, and if you’re extra sensitive, we have an add on option to apply numbing cream 30 minutes before your appointment for maximum comfort.
Everyone's skin is as unique as they are, so the frequency of laser treatment will vary from person to person. Overall, most patients need about 3-6 treatment sessions (which are about 30-45 minutes) at 4-6 week intervals to achieve the best results for unwanted pigment, acne scars, and other skin concerns. Depending on the severity and forms of hyperpigmentation, more treatments may be required.
Following your PicoSure Pro laser treatment, you may see improvements within 1-2 weeks! However, it will take additional treatments to properly increase collagen production and achieve the expected results. Patients may begin to notice some improvements in as little as a few weeks after one treatment and some may notice results after 2-3 sessions.
