Laser Hair Removal

Here at Velour Laser, our dedicated team of professionally-trained Medical Aestheticians and Technicians are certified in the use of medical-grade, FDA, and Health Canada-approved laser hair removal equipment. While methods such as waxing, plucking, and shaving offer only temporary solutions, laser hair removal will help you achieve more permanent results without the discomfort of side effects such as ingrown hairs and skin irritation!

What Does Treatment Look Like?

Laser hair removal works by targeting hair follicles with a concentrated beam of light. By gently heating up the follicle, the light is absorbed into the hair pigment and the follicle is damaged which inhibits hair regrowth.

What Do We Use?

Here at Velour Laser, we use a variety of tools that are licensed by Health Canada and meet all standards for medical-grade equipment!

Our laser hair removal equipment includes:

• Soprano XL by Alma Laser
• Elite IQ by Cynosure Laser

Laser Hair Removal Treatment:

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions are required for total hair removal?

Results vary from client to client but it takes an average of 6-9 treatments to notice a significant difference - which is usually around 70-95% total reduction in hair growth.

How far apart will my sessions be?

Typically, we allow between 4-10 weeks between sessions but that all depends on what area is being treated and the amount of hair growth left.

Does laser hair removal work on all hair types?

The only types of hair that laser removal will not work on are vellus hair (the short, fine, slightly colored, and barely noticeable hair on your body) and grey hair. The laser treatment works best on dark, coarse hair but will work on all hair with pigmentation.

What about skin types?

Yes! Laser hair removal works on all skin types.

How old do I have to be to get laser hair removal treatment?

You have to be 18 years old but you can start at 16 with a parent or guardian’s consent.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Yes, but this varies between clients. New follicles can always develop due to hormonal changes or shifts in weight. However, touch-ups can be done every year or so.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

You may feel a slight pinch or gentle heat depending on the thickness of your hair but, overall, the newest technologies in hair removal are virtually painless!

At Velour Laser we are a dedicated team with medical background education. We provides state of the art technology, FDA and Health Canada approved Laser equipment. We take pride in providing our clients with permanent hair reduction.
